Throughout the month of November, I am going to take and publish at least one picture per day. Nothing more, nothing less.
Why?
Various reasons: When I think of myself and my photography, I think of myself as a rather technical photographer. I’m not even sure if that is a real word. Yet by forcing myself to take and post a new picture every day I hope to stimulate myself in taking new and renewing pictures. In other words: creativity. Also, I hope to bring some additional brightness into our rapidly darkening lives (=by the time this month is over, there will only be a very very short period of sunlight per day) I see this as a journey that I am taking and I give you the chance to join me. I would like to see you hanging around, but I won’t stop if you are not.
The funny thing is, I have had this idea for a couple years now. Always around October, December. But ideas never turned into action. Until 2010 …..
What?
I don’t know what I will be taking pictures off. Portraits, nature, daily events. Maybe some days will share it’s theme, maybe I’ll have a new theme every day. I really don’t know .. yet.
How?
I promise that I am not going to drag my Canon EOS 350D with me everywhere I go. Some days, I might only use my iPhone camera. This eventually is part of the challenge I am throwing at myself:: daring to show something when I know it’s not picture-perfect-ly-crips (=pun intended) yet creatively interesting. During the weekends I hope to make more time available for this purpose and take a “nicer” picture for you, spend more time on post-processing, etc… I will try to post-process each picture. I see this as a required tool in in creative photography.
Will I listen to the audience?
YES! I am open for and welcoming warmly any challenges, requests or other suggestions.
When?
Every picture I post will be taken on the day it is posted. I must post a picture each day – before midnight. If I fail at doing so, I have failed this project (I will no longer continue) and we can discuss a proper punishment via the comments-field.
Volume?
Only one per day? The goal is to indeed post only one picture each day. But I might take a sequence or multiple pictures one day. However, if I post multiple pictures one day they all need to be related somehow. My intend is that when I do decide to use several pictures, I have had the time and tools available to make a collage, so it feels like 1 picture.
Where?
Right here…. this post. To keep swuste.com from filling with one-picture-posts, I will be editing this post each day. I hope your short-term memory is strong enough for you to remember if you you want to check back in or not once a day.
I am going to start off with a person that I’m taking way to little pictures of ..
Un abbraccio forte
Cheers, Eduardo
(I know that you will easly translate and understand what I wrote, but in case ping me)
